Top Summer Tips — Be Ready for The Heat
Summer is here. At least for me it is. Texas never actually had a winter. We have cold days. Our coldest day this past winter was around 30 degrees. Spring weather is what we had during the Summer. Here is a perfect way to describe our seasons. Summer ranges between May till Mid October and sometimes November. Then from November till April we have Spring/Fall weather with cold days. That’s it. So what are the best ways to stay cool and embrace the heat?
Firstly, make sure your A/C units are all working properly. At home, in your car.
If you’re going to work out, do it indoors. Or wake up really early (6am) and get to it. It can even be dangerous during the middle of summer to be out in the Texas heat working out. Avoid a visit to the hospital this way.
The fashion staples everyone should have are: sunglasses, a hat, and light clothing. My favorite pieces to wear during summer are dresses, jumpers, and rompers. First of all, they are easy and fresh to wear. You won’t have to think too much about pairing your outfits, and to me, jeans are the least comfortable things to wear during the summer. I will be making a post soon about all of my favorite Summer pieces, featuring various outfits.
When it comes to shoes, I always prefer my yoga sandals from Sanuk. But sandals in general are going to be a good call, but a good pair of tennis shoes are a must as well. Especially if you’re going to be outside a lot doing outdoorsy things.
The Extra Things
Wear sunscreen. Protect your skin, and put some on even if you’re not planning on being outside for long. Carry a bottle of water with you. Don’t leave electronics or food inside of your car.
I know it’s going to be a brutal summer here in Texas, and I’m trying to mentally prepare myself. If you know me though, you know how much I hate the heat. Which does mean I suffer most of the time, but hey, I gotta do what I gotta do in order to service here.
