OUAI Product Review
I’ve used a variety of shampoos and OUAI is one of my favorite brands that I repurchase constantly. The lines I have used: CLEAN, REPAIR, and SMOOTH. I love em all. Unfortunately some shampoos make my hair extremely greasy a day after I wash. I’m used to that maybe 3-4 days after though. I’ll post my “worst/not worth the splurge” review in a couple of weeks mentioning those specific shampoos.
I’m currently using the CLEAN line. The shampoos don’t weigh my hair down, and they also make my hair feel clean a lot longer than other shampoos I have used. I’m not a huge fan of the smell though. It’s floral, and I’m just not into it. However, that doesn’t deter me from using the products. Which says a lot about the shampoos in and of itself. I don’t wash my hair everyday. So a bottle of shampoo and conditioner last about 2-3 months. A bottle is roughly around $26-28 +tax.
I do have other OUAI products like the mouse dry shampoo, matte pomade, and soft hairspray.
The hairspray is nice. It doesn’t leave my hair overly crispy. My hair is pretty thick and holds any style pretty well. So I wouldn’t be the best at judging how well it would work for thin hair. Sorry ladies!
The matte pomade works how it should, but I have never used a waxy product like it before. If you haven’t either, brace yourself. I personally don’t like the stiffness of the product, although I’ll use it on occasion. It’s supposed to make your hair piecey and textured. Which it does. I won’t be repurchasing the pomade though. I rarely use it. It’s the kind of product you might want to use for photo shoots or events, but not if you want to go wash-free for the next day or two. Your hair ends would be crispy and putting your hand in between hair isn’t a good choice when using the pomade.
The dry shampoo foam isn’t the greatest. Like I said earlier, I have oily hair. My perception of a dry shampoo is that it’s supposed to absorb some of the oil in order for your hair not to look that greasy. I have yet to find a dry shampoo that does that. I’ve tried quite a few as well. In my experience, this dry shampoo makes my hair greasier. Maybe I need to rub it in longer? I don’t know but if I have to massage the dry shampoo in my hair for over a minute — I’m out.
Here is a list of the next products I will be trying out from OUAI:
