Oddfellows in Bishop Arts offers more than just coffee. They have a an espresso/coffee menu, a brunch menu, and a dinner menu. At least that’s what I found on their website. I’ve been to Oddfellows a couple of times, but the last time I went was on a Saturday morning. Ugh and it was a mistake. It was packed with people, the tables were sticky, and there were so many flies. Why? Because the doors and windows were all open. Essentially, I would have been comfortable with it if it was during the winter and flies weren’t around. However, the company you’re with and the environment you’re surrounded by does affect the whole experience.
I’m not blaming Oddfellows for the flies, but it definitely distracted me, as I was trying to enjoy my hazelnut cappuccino and croissant sandwich. I kept swatting them away, protecting my coffee and food. Ain’t nobody got time for flies. Johnathon and I were even surrounded by 3 flies at once. The place was packed, and everyone else was shooing the flies away. Except for two ladies sitting next to us. I don’t think they were bothered.
All that to say that the quality in coffee at Oddfellows has improved. I noticed a couple of other items they used to carry were also not available anymore as well, so maybe Oddfellows had a menu and quality overhaul? Now, is it the best coffee ever? Eh. But I did gulp my cappuccino, and I would go back. Only during the winter though. What’s your favorite coffee shop? I have a huge list of coffee shops to review in the area, but man, I have to pace myself.
