Fenty Beauty Review
The week Fenty Beauty launched in-stores, I immediately went to Sephora. I picked up a sample of the Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer and the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation. I was pretty excited to try the products out. The first thing I tried was the primer and foundation together, and then separately with other foundations/primers. All-in-all, I’m impressed. The primer was nice, but it didn’t stand out. I have used other primers that I’ve liked a lot more like the Dr. Brandt pores no more pore refiner primer.
I would still suggest everyone sampling the primer, just in case you absolutely fall in love with it. The foundation lasted all day, and it wasn’t overly matte — hence soft matte. It didn’t dry up my skin, and my skin didn’t become overly oily. Yep, it’s a thing. Whenever I wear matte foundations, my skin over-compensates for the lack of oil and produces so much more. However, when I wear a normal to dewy foundation, my t-zone does not become overly oily.
This foundation hit the sweet spot.
Do I think it’s the best foundation ever created? No, but it’s still good. So good that I actually committed and bought a full-size foundation. That’s a pretty big deal for me. I don’t like to commit to foundations, so when I purchase one after testing it out, I count that as a win.
The color range is just fantastic. Even beauty brands that have been in the industry for decades have yet to catch up on their color selection. They may have 100 shades of ivory and one medium, and deep medium shade, but that doesn’t really cut it for the rest of us. I have yet to try other products. I’m looking forward to trying out the beauty sponge and comparing it to the beauty blender. Have you tried any Fenty Beauty products? If so, what did you try and what is your opinion on it?
