Cinnamon Roll Latte
A short story about how this recipe came to be. When Johnathon worked at Starbucks, he would always make me a “special” drink. I loved it. He even put it in a bottle, so I could recreate the drink at home. He will forever be my favorite barista. Besides this drink having sentimental value, I truly enjoyed drinking it. A couple of days ago I asked him what syrups he had used. Cinnamon Dolce & White Mocha. Immediately, I knew I had to try and recreate the drink.
So, that brings us here. It’s perfect for Christmas, but hey, cinnamon rolls are always welcomed in my house. The first syrup I made was the cinnamon dolce syrup. I got the recipe from House of Aqua. The only step I didn’t complete is letting it come to a complete boil. I don’t think it was that big of a deal though. Basically I added my water and sugars together. As soon as they combined, I added the cinnamon. When small bubbles surfaced (pictured above), I took it off the stove top. It didn’t even take 10 minutes to make. Afterward, I moved on to the white mocha syrup.
White Chocolate Syrup
The white chocolate syrup is from Th Grant Life blog. It took me about 5-8 minutes to make this syrup. The half & half simmered, and then I added the butter and white chocolate. If this concoction isn’t sweet enough, you can always use sweetened condensed milk instead. Maybe add some evaporated milk for a bit more richness. White chocolate is sweet enough for me, though. I let that sit for a couple of minutes, because I moved on to making the latte portion of this drink.
The Final Step
I added one tablespoon of each syrup to my cup. Add as much or as little, it all depends on how sweet you want your coffee. To top it off, I added a sprinkle of cinnamon. Sweetness overload. I love it. Oh, and since I know it’s spring and summer in places like Texas, I made an iced version as well. Here’s a quick run down of how to make this iced latte.
Iced Cinnamon Roll Latte
First, mix both syrups together. I ended up adding both syrups into one bottle. Pull your shot directly into the cup where your syrups are in. Mix until completely smooth. In a separate cup add ice. Then pour in the espresso & syrup mixture. Lastly add milk and enjoy!
If this post was picture overload, please let me know. I’m trying to get better at writing blog posts about recipes. I hope you all enjoyed the Cinnamon Roll Latte recipe. I had a lot of fun making it. There will be more to come.
P.S. you’re awesome
