GEORGE COFFEE + PROVISIONS
On July 17th, GEORGE had it’s soft opening. I’ve been waiting for this day for quite awhile. I had been following the coffee shop on social media, and I was so excited that a new coffee shop was opening up near my house. When Johnathon and I first pulled up, I was shocked at how big it was. I never visited the area during it’s construction phase. Plus, most coffee shops are too big. The space was open, clean with a hint of warmth and coziness.
Instagrammers will love it
There were gorgeous flowers and plants, the shop wasn’t crowded with tables, and the music wasn’t too loud. I really only have good things to say about the coffee shop. There’s room for people to talk to each other and not have to shout over someone else who is across the room. There’s an herb garden, chairs and tables outside, and a white picket fence.

The baristas were friendly, and the for sale items were awesome. They’re selling these really cool mugs I want to go back for, and neat home brewing apparatuses. If you live in the DFW area, you tend to see a trend in many coffee shops. Not every coffee shop of course, but many in downtown Dallas are all fairly similar. GEORGE C + P brings in a unique vibe to the coffee world in the area. Setting itself apart from downtown. Even when comparing to the products and pastries they carry.
The had fresh healthy juices available, my favorite mineral water — Topo Chico, and chocolate chip cookies to name a few. I ordered a cortado. I want to preface with, most of the time I order a cortado (especially when I can tell it’s a new barista), I know it’s going to be bitter. Nevertheless, when I received my drink — I was shook. Ha, ok that’s being a little extra. Pleasantly surprised would be the best description.
The shot wasn’t bitter, and the steamed milk was smooth. I haven’t enjoyed a well made cortado in awhile, so thank you George. I’m excited to see the success of the coffee house, and I can’t wait to visit GEORGE COFFEE + PROVISIONS again. If you’re in Coppell (or near the area), you need to stop by. Go on a date with your best friends, your family, or with yourself. You’ll really enjoy it. If you don’t, you can totally come back at me in the comments.
